The Digital Bench: A Rhino 3D Primer

This 2-day virtual workshop will provide students with the fundamental skills required to design objects using Rhinoceros 3D modeling software. Students will be encouraged throughout the workshop to identify and explore CAD's potential for their individual studio needs through demonstrations and in-workshop assignments. This is an introductory course that provides a friendly, inclusive overview of Rhino3D.

Arthur Hash is a freelance Jewelry designer/digital consultant who shares a studio with his wife and fellow jeweler, Liz Clark in Providence, RI For the last seventeen years Arthur has taught digital fabrication and Jewelry Design courses at multiple universities across the country including the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, RI, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, and SUNY New Paltz in New Paltz, NY. Arthur has managed/operated multiple digital fabrication/metals facilities including Makerbot Innovation Centers, Digital Design/Fabrication certificate programs, and MIT Fab Labs. His personal studio practice incorporates industrial technologies such as waterjet cutters, 3D scanners, fiber lasers, 3D printers, and laser engraving to make one-off wearable art jewelry pieces, large archival ink-jet prints, production jewelry, and wearable interactive electronics.
